Companies Will Team Up to Publish
Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira
Lisboa, Portugal and Washington DC ... IMAS PUBLISHING
GROUP, publisher of Broadcast & Production Brasil, and Bento,
Lemos & Burnay, Lda., publisher of Producao Profissional,
announce a new strategic partnership for the Brazilian market.
The two publishers have agreed to combine their efforts behind
one publication, Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira. Together,
IMAS and BLB will work to build a comprehensive and leading publication
for Brazilian television, radio, audio and video professionals.
Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira was launched in January
2002 as an offshoot of the 11-year-old Portuguese title and three-year-old
Spanish version of the magazine. The Brazilian magazine, published
monthly and circulated to more then 10.000 readers, covers the
needs of TV and Radio Broadcasting; AV Recording; Computer Graphics
and Convergence Technologies markets. Under the new strategic
arrangement, Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira will have
access to articles from IMAS PUBLISHING GROUP's 18 magazines,
including TV Technology, Radio World and Audio Media. Broadcast
& Production Brasil will cease publishing with the May/June
issue.
In addition, IMAS PUBLISHING GROUP will take over exclusive advertising
sales representation for Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira
for the United States, Canada, Italy and the United Kingdom.
"Our experience in the Portuguese speaking countries and
in Spain, gave us the confidence that Producao Profissional serves
the information needs of all the professionals in the territories
where we are present. This agreement with IMAS PUBLISHING GROUP
is a confirmation of BLB's strategy for our Brazilian Edition,
after only six months in the market," said BLB's President
António Bento. "BLB understands this strategic agreement
as a long term relationship which will enable us to reinforce
the role of Producao Profissional as the reference publication
for all the professionals in television, radio and audiovisual
production in Brasil."
"Our two companies have complementary strengths," said
IMAS PUBLISHING GROUP's President Stevan Dana. "BLB has a
successful publishing operation in Brazil. IMAS is the broadcast/radio/audio/video
industry's largest worldwide publisher. Together, we will create
a very strong publication that will greatly benefit both readers
and advertisers."
Producao Profissional Edicao Brasileira is published in Brasil
through Ferreira & Bento do Brasil Lda, a local partnership
company with Bento, Lemos & Burnay Lda from Portugal. BLB
publishes Producao Profissional in Portugal and Produccion Profesional
in Spain, as well as two other specialized titles in the Electronics
and Professional Audio markets. All Producao Profissional titles
in Portugal, Spain and Brazil have local newsdesks, sharing international

eight languages for the world's broadcast, video and audio markets,
